Can I take photos and videos of my surf session?
We love seeing your sessions through your lens — here’s what’s allowed so everyone can enjoy the waves safely and respectfully.
Personal photography & filming
You’re welcome to capture the moment in public areas using non-professional equipment like:
- Your phone
- A basic camera (no telephoto lens)
Our team may step in if equipment is considered professional, just to keep things fair and safe for everyone.
Action sports camera use in the water
Keen to film your waves? You can use an action sports camera (i.e. GoPro), with a few important rules:
- Must be mounted to your own surfboard
- Handheld action sports cameras aren’t permitted
- Can’t be attached to any URBNSURF equipment
What’s not allowed
- Drones anywhere on or above the premises
- Any filming or photography in change rooms, toilets or showers — no exceptions
If any content raises privacy concerns (like capturing other guests or restricted areas), our team may ask to review and request deletion.
A quick heads up
While you’re welcome to bring your gear, URBNSURF isn’t responsible for any loss or damage to personal equipment.
